Apparently it may be presumed as contradictory but there may not be any controversy that parallel expertise in the domains of music, literature and science is a splendour of Dhrubajyoti versatility.

In due course Dhrubajyoti has started participating public performances and been able to carve out a distinct and exclusive place in the heart of the music lovers and critics, mesmerizing them with his music as a perfectionist to the core. With a super-analytical mind and sense of precision, he has been successful to imbibe the stylistic nuances of Dhrupad and Veen Ang (counted as the specialty of Senia Gharana), particularly in Alaap, Jod, Gat, Taan, Tehai and Layakari renditions . He is aptly skilled to enhance the beauty of the Raga with varieties of excellent Gat compositions in different Taals, thus to bring out the divine music of the soul from Sitar.

Dhrubajyoti was fortunate enough to be provided with the blessings of Ustad Ali Akbar Khan (photo at left), securing appreciation from him by excellent demonstration of Sitar before him. Later on he became the disciple of the renowned Guru, Prof. Santosh Kumar Banerjee (Ex – Head of the Dept. of Instrumental Music, Rabindra Bharati University), a doyen of the Rampur Senia Gharana and had obtained the training of significant musical meticulousness of both Sitar and Surbahar.

Dhrubajyoti came in close contact with the great maestros of Hindustani Classical music—the likes of Pandit Dhrubatara Joshi (ex-Acharya, Sangeet Bhawan, Viswa Bharati University) and Pandit Nikhil Banerjee, and was blessed to receive advice and guidance from them time to time.

Dhrubajyoti has enchanted the audiences in a number of prestigious music conferences all over India and abroad and has been recognized with Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) and as a graded artist of Prasar Bharati (All India Radio). He has been honoured with the appellations viz. Sangeet Prabhakar, Sangeet Bibhakar and Sangeet Visarad and has been awarded with the prestigious ‘Sur Moni’ (The title offered for an excellent performance in the famous ‘Swami Haridas Sangeet Sammelan‘).

He has received many awards and appreciations. He has received many awards and appreciations from the well-known institutions, eminent music scholars and critics from both the print and electronic media. He possesses a legion of admirers among the innumerable culture-minded and intellectual individuals coming from every sphere of this culture-prone society.

Dhrubajyoti has been provided with 1st class M.Sc. Degree and Ph. D. in Anthropological Science from Calcutta University, possessing a good number of praiseworthy publications. He became experienced in Post-Graduate teaching of Anthropology at Vidyasagar University (West Bengal). He is the Scientific Advisor for the projects regarding prevention of congenital diseases of the renowned NGO ASHA (Association for Social and Health Advancement).

Dhrubajyoti is a music composer and lyricist and gathered fame as a poet and writer, too. He is a voracious reader, a prolific writer and a warm correspondent to put heart and soul behind every spell of work.

Apart from his aforementioned creative works, he dedicates some of his time also in social services on regular basis. He was the past President (2007-2008) of Rotary Club of Ganga Heritage, Barrackpore, and Rotary Club of Kolkata Temple City and was awarded as one of the best performers in the national level for his earnest endeavour and active participation in ‘Pulse Polio Program’ for eradication of Polio- the dreadful disease which had victimized his right lower limb too, in his childhood. However, he challenged the disease in every respect in his real life.
